Our goal
To improve the lives of women and young people in all 46 sub-Saharan countries by promoting human rights and gender equality, within each country's population dynamics context.
We aim to achieve universal access to sexual and reproductive health, promote reproductive rights, reduce maternal mortality, and accelerate progresson the ICPD agenda and MDG 5 a and b. This means:
To make sure that all women and men in Africa have ongoing access to contraceptives, family planning and help with infertility.
To help prevent and treat rape of and violence against women and girls.
To reduce the unnecessary deaths of women due to childbearing, to meet Millennium Development Goal 5.
To ensure women receive quality medical care before conceiving, during pregnancy, and after delivery.
To prevent and treat illnesses of the reproductive tracts, such as fistula.
To promote an individual's right to choose if, when and how many children they have.
To help adolescents access information on and determine their sexual orientation and reproductive rights.
