Child Marriage: A Mapping of Programmes and Partners in Twelve Countries in East and Southern Africa

Publication

Child marriage can have devastating consequences for girls and their future children. This report presents the results of a mapping of programmes and partnerships that seek to prevent and mitigate the effects of child marriage in East and Southern Africa. The mapping focused on 12 countries in the region where the prevalence of child marriage is greater than 30 per cent.

Menstrual Health Management in East and Southern Africa: A Review Paper

This review provides an overview of MHM policies and programmes in the ESA region, with a focus on education, school and community-based sexuality education, WASH, sexual and reproductive health, workplace support and humanitarian programming, as well as opening up the discussion regarding marginalized groups of women and girls such as disabled, prisoners and transgender men.

Annual Report

Last year saw the end of UNFPA East and Southern Africa Regional Programme Action Plan 2014-2017, which focused on women and young people as our priorities. We close this phase with a slew of impressive achievements, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 3 on Health, SDG 4 on Education and SDG 5 on Gender Equality. This, our 2017 annual report, details UNFPA's achievements in advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights in the region, for women and young people in particular.

Stop Violence Against Women in South Africa: Know Your Epidemic, Know Your Response
