This baseline study explored first-time young mothers' use and perception of health services and their social and economic living conditions and needs. The findings suggest that use of maternal and child health services by these mothers is comparable to that of other women of reproductive age. Most of these young mothers were satisfied with the services they had received during their pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal period.
