Many factors, including HIV infection, teen pregnancy, and child marriage, may compromise the ability of young people to save capital, complete their vocational training, and become productive workers and entrepreneurs. Addressing the crucial yet often overlooked link between business and sexual and reproductive health is the cornerstone of UNFPA’s Youth Enterprise Model (YEM) project in Uganda. YEM creates opportunities and spaces for young people to acquire the skills needed for business and work, together with the information needed to make safe, responsible decisions related to their sexual and reproductive health.

In 2018, an evaluation assessed the effectiveness, efficiency, impact, relevance, and sustainability of YEM during its five years of operation. This publication summarizes the findings.
