To achieve the goals of halving unmet need for family planning and harnessing the benefits of the demographic dividend, a planning and information-sharing meeting is to be held with Regional Economic Communities (RECs) supported by UNFPA ESARO. This will take place from 26-28 March in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The objectives of the meeting are to harmonise, standardise and synergise the activities of the RECs that ESARO supports, towards achieving universal access to SRHR based on the ICPD – including halving the unmet need for family planning and harnessing the benefits of the demographic dividend.
The meeting is to be attended by the relevant RECs (COMESA, EAC, IGAD and SADC), IPPF, PSI Southern Africa Regional Office, UNFPA ESARO and independent consultants.
