Drought response in Zambia

Zambia’s worst drought in 40 years has led to hunger and deepened sexual and reproductive health needs. UNFPA is on the ground, mobilizing partners in remote areas to ensure that mobile clinics reach all.

Our dedicated team, like Leonard in Southern District, is using their deep connections within the community to ensure that even the most isolated villages receive help. Our strong network and ongoing support to the Ministry of Health meant that we were prepared for two emergencies this year – first cholera, and now drought.

UNFPA’s partnership with the Government of Sweden continues to ensure critical health support to young persons in the most vulnerable situations.
